The Neighborhood
Orange County (New York) is a great place to live. We knew practically nothing about the area, but felt right at home the minute we moved in. There are people whose ancestors arrived in 1756, then there are 'city folk' like us. We are surrounded by dairy farmers, web designers, vineyards, photographers, bankers, builders, and doctors.Our 'formal' location is the Town of Warwick, which consists of the Villages of Warwick, Greenwood Lake, and Florida (NY). Nearby are Monroe, Chester, and West Milford NJ. And of course the 18,000-acre Sterling Forest State Park, which is literally just across the road from us. Along with our land (protected from future development) this means that the houses you see here now are pretty much all you will ever see -- this area will never become like Rockland, Westchester or Bergen Counties (totally built-out). We still have room for a few more of you....
